Chang-mai
This place was such a welcome change from the hedonistic madness of Ko pagnan. Further north this is where most people go to do the mountain/tribe treks, Mid July.

So having got to changmai, I was very pleased with my accomodation.
Enjoying a big glass of samsom – whisky of choice in thailand.

‘The happy couple’. Just met met up with George and he had just come back from his free whisky tour with this chap. He was wasted too and he ended up being our taxi driver into the city that night….

Thumbs, a frog and two germans (Bene, Tobi)… two of the guys on the trek.

Nikki and Laura two mancunians on the trek.

Parisienne ‘Ludo’ doing a great job on the pose.

Yum, tastes like bacon with a bit more spice – just don’t look them in the eye, just do it!

So first up was the elephant treking, great stuff…

The little baby elephant….

Managed go blag the local smoke off one of the villagers – banana leaf and tobbaco. It lasted 3 hours shared between 4 guys and we still didn’t finish it…

Here we go starts well – thumbs ahoy!

Gotta try and keep balanced – don’t want to slip and get a shoe drenched in mud.

Really like this shot, I like the guide at the far back getting involved!

First pitstop waterfall. So nice to get in after khiking for a couple of hours drenched in sweat…Nice.

Waterfall fun ensued!! The power of the water was great for your back!

Me and a mini-Jackie chan. ummm, tour guide – though he did look really like him!

Hurrah, get to our first nights accomodation. A hut with beers. Nothing else. Oh, and sleeping bags!

Views outside the hut were amazing! There was nothing for miles – oh except a small mall with a mc donalds and pizza hut right behind that hil (kidding!)….

So that evening after eating a massive feast wich the tour guide whipped up comrising of thai green curry some other stuff I don’t even know the name of, we drank beers and they brought out musical instruments. Funny horn things – I bought one obviously for about 40p…

More drinking ensued and and drinking games – DO you know the one involving poses and a noise? Oh and a clapping rythm?…

Anywho these were the poses, and my noise was ‘yeah!’….

Next day trekking and this was the water fall break with the leech incident – the tour guide throwing an under developed frog which looked like a leech at Nikki, she went skits and I had to piggy back her out of the river with me shitting it too. I didn’t know what was going on. Found out there were leeches – they where about 5mm big like little worms.

Proffessional – he’s lovin’ it lovin’ it lovin’…

The cat’s looking unimpressed…

Obligatory kid shot…He was tottally relaxed, he loved the camera….Now pretend your a monkey!

Next night was campfire night…

“We all live in the yellow submarine (wooo!) yellow submarine (woo!) Yellow submarine….”

Ahhh, the cockfighting. In the red corner we have…must be prep talk time, talking tactics…

‘Ding ding’ round 1… “ELbows! Elbows!”

And the crowd are going wild “Knock’im down…Elbows!!”
