Bangkok
Had a great time here! I know in the blog I said I wasn’t that impressed but in retrospect I miss it all! I suppose I just wasn’t psychologically ready for Bangkok, and especially the main backpackers road – Khaosan. It was all as you know ‘where are you going’, ‘whats your name?,’do you want a suit?’… Then there was a the wooden frog sellers, the giant zippo lighter sellers, the bracelet sellers, the list goes on and on…. Oh I loved the food too – authentic thai green curry is still ne of my faves!

The famous Khaoson road. Backpackers galore – it had been a long while since i’ve seen westerners since I left in april.

Met with Gabriel – met in Beijing, and George from back in Reading. Really slumming it in the deluxe rooms.

Trinkets galore – still loving the croaking frog….

This woman made the best sweety-treat ever, with bananas and some kind of thin pastry and condensed milk. Kept coming back for more!

Me at ringside – Elbows!

Use your elbows – ELBOWS!

And the crowd goes wild- wwooooowoooo! They had their own brawl at the top there just after this was taken, hilarious – people were watching them not the fight. They started chucking chairs and all sorts!

The lighter is normal size, we momentarily shrunk the world to make it look big…

Reclining buddha classic.

The standing buddha….

Inside, shirine. Amazing paintings on the walls love all that stuff…

I enjoyed the chicken hearts and good old pork if I remembered correctly…

Yep another classic – the grand palace…

Another cheap and delightful meal roadside. Again, sat down made a few gestures and get loads of stuff. This time clams and a hot pot style thing.

The thai girl who had been to more places in the UK than I had been. I was inspired that night. I come all this way and I hadn’t even bothered looking outside my own doorstep…

And she was reading meinkampf. Available at all good bookshops and school in Thailand.

( Where’s wally) ‘And what platform am I supposed to be on?’

It was strange to find such a huge space of concrete in downtown Bangkok. It was the closest thing to a park I’ve seen there.

This was my last bucket in thailand, the next day I was off to Singapore.
