Xian

So after a week in shanghai,we ventured off to Xian – home of the emperor, and the terracotta warriors, Mid June.

After rushing like mad people for the train – yes we literally just made it. We all met up at the wrong side of the station and obviously panic ensued. Although I’m 90% of my flight or train/buses have got an element of panic. In fact I have already missed a train to hong kong, and a train from chang mai to bangkok, that wasn’t my fault however – damn that tuk tuk driver!

Apparently stroking this lion/dragon thingy was suppose to bring you verility…hmmmm

The terracotta warriors – more like a mad rush for people to get out of work!

They counted around 10,000 of these guys, each one different. Very short legs though…

From london to berlin in every disco I’ve been in….no comment.

Midway break already. Still going strong – look at the enthusiasm in my face!

So many stairs – check out my super-cool green poncho. It was pissing it down!

Took the photo first and Magnus rightly pointed out that the photo ‘meant shit’ if we don’t climb it. We get to the top and find out it was for the way down – damn you photo!

Strange signs. Get to the top and your not allowed to toss!? what is the world coming to!

So after a rest in at 11pm at night and getting up at 3am to climb up more, the girls didn’t bother getting up, we ‘men’ did it and this is what we saw… white fog. Could have been anywhere…

So we took a picture of a picture (from the map) and pretended this is what we saw. You can see the fold!

This was just really blurry – funny thing is the girls didn’t suspect a thing they were like ‘wow!’ I was on the verge of cracking up so I just prentended to cough a lot!

But it was okay as things started to clear up a bit and there were some amazing views!

We hired some bikes and picked up a another fellow traveller called Anny to go round Xian’s city walls, 13K – not very far on bikes. I loved it so much I did again!

Celebrated with a meal of assorted tofu, pork and chicken dishes and beer drinking games…
